Reports from Italy indicates that Inter Milan have entered the race to sign Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk. The Dutch Defender has been linked to several Premier League sides this season. He almost joined Man City during the January transfer window and is still on the watch list of the Etihad club.
However, Inter Milan have now entered the race to sign him. It is very unlikely that Van Dijk would leave the Premiership for Serie A, unless an offer that he cannot turn down is made.
Liverpool have been tracking the defender for a long time but have cooled their interest, while Chelsea are in the market to replace most of their defenders. John Terry and Ivanovic are expected to leave the London club this season, and if they do, Van Dijk would be a an ideal replacement.
For now Man City looks the more likely to sign him, if the latest gossip is anything to go by.
